The Gaddum, set in the heart of the Lake District, could have been designed with Valentine dinner in mind.

The Lake District must be one of the most romantic places in the world – many have fallen in love with its stunning beauty, wild places, and sublime scenery – it was after all home to the Romantic Poets Wordsworth, Southey and Coleridge, and has been the muse and inspiration for painters and writers for over two centuries.

It should come as no surprise then to discover that love is still the beating heart of the Lake District – and at The Gaddum we show that love in everything we do – from the relaxed welcome and the passionately prepared food to the warm farewells you’ll feel the love.

The Gaddum during the day has an enviable reputation for its five-star afternoon teas and lunches with its magnificent views across the Thomas Mawson gardens and Windermere to the Langdale and Coniston Fells – but we only open The Gaddum in the evening for very special occasions and what could be more special than celebrating Valentine’s Day with someone you love. The Gaddum Restaurant could have been designed with Valentine dinners in mind. The beautifully designed Arts & Crafts rooms truly come alive in the evening – warm, relaxed and, might we say, romantic.

So, we invite you to spend a very special Valentine evening with us. Whether you are a courting couple in the throes of a new romance, already in a loving relationship or ‘just friends’, we have your table for two waiting for you.

Head chef Sergej Dzivulskij and his team have curated a four course Valentine’s Day menu using the finest Cumbrian produce, some from Brockholes’ own heritage Kitchen Garden and foraged from the estate. Your Valentine evening will start with a glass of Champagne in the cosy lounge next to the log burner before moving into the beautiful William Morris inspired dining room to select from our delicious valentine menu of dishes which champion exceptional premium quality, natural ingredients – and finish with a selection of homemade chocolates to share– what’s not to love?

The Gaddum’s Valentine evening menu is £ 44per person. Tables can be reserved from 6.15pm. If you would like to make a booking for The Gaddum’s Valentine evening, please complete the booking form.

Every penny spent at The Gaddum and Brockhole helps the Lake District National Park protect the Lake District and helps us look after the landscape you love.
